The Pantone Matching System is a standard color reproduction system. Since it encompasses a wide color gamut, you can print colors that can’t be perfectly reproduced using the standard 4-color process inks. This will help you make sure you get the color match you require. Keep in mind that tissue paper is not opaque, making the prints somewhat translucent, and colored tissue is also a factor in how the inks translate on the stock.Metallic inks are fine, reflective, metal flakes in a clear base, making these inks opaque, unlike the other inks. These are a bit more to chalking. While they add luster, these shouldn’t be compared to the true metal appearance of foil stamping.

If you are printing your tissue paper for the first time and want to make sure you get the results you are after, an on-press sample or “hard proof” is the final pre-production step before printing the whole run. This will use the same inks and same paper as your order so that you can see the quality, layout, and print and tissue color in person, to check for any adjustments, if and when necessary. This is available for a nominal fee, and will be shipped to you for checking before the actual print run.
